n Player has great features (audio sync, audio boost, adding/downloading subtitles), exo player doesn't.
But Exo support Dolby Vision, where nPlayer doesn't.

Means it can play but like one frame per second. But shows every frame clearly. Here are the specifications:- processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-5005u ,cpu- @2.00Ghz 2.00Ghz
RAM- 4.00 GB ,SYSTEM TYPE-64-BIT OS .x64- based processor, windows 10 home (not activated one), version 21H2.

I think your laptop will struggle if the 4K video codec is HEVC or H265 or x265 10bit. It might play 4K H.264 easily, but no movies are available in this format.
So, better download 1080p x264 for the best quality. Anyways, if your screen is 1080p, then 1080p x264 is more than enough.

Playing a 4K video means playing 4x 1080p videos.
The point is Do you have 4K Monitor?
If yes then you should upgrade your system.
If you have 1080p screen, then no need to go for 4K, download 1080p x264 or 1080p REMUX. That will give you highest quality possible in your screen.

You need both software and hardware support for both HDR & DV to play those videos. Though, You can play HDR videos in SDR screens with the software help, but you won't get that HDR quality.
